A group of campaigners in Hulme, Manchester, fight a tenacious battle to defend their community against predatory developers and their backers on the council. Based on official documents and interviews with activists, this documentary play combines heartfelt performances and original music to show a community challenging a system rigged in favour of the powerful.
This project marries together different strands of my practice - new writing, community work, political storytelling.
Spending time with the activists was inspiring and the opportunity to bring to life their fight was very special.
